biolm notebook

Start and stop a local JupyterLab session with BioLM credentials and the jupyterlab-biolm extension wired for the SDK. Platform-hosted sandboxes are not part of this command yet — --local is currently required on start and stop.

Install the notebook extra (JupyterLab + jupyterlab-biolm):

bash
pip install 'biolm-sdk[notebook]'

Typical workflow:

bash
biolm account login # optional if BIOLM_TOKEN is already set
biolm notebook start --local # foreground Lab on port 8888
# …or…
biolm notebook start --local -d # detach; prints URL
biolm notebook stop --local

Session metadata (pid, port, URL) is stored in ~/.biolm/notebook-local.json so stop can find the process — including a foreground session stopped from a second terminal. Only one tracked local session is allowed at a time. Detached mode discards Lab server logs; use foreground start if the printed URL never loads.

Start and stop BioLM-configured JupyterLab sessions.

Use start / stop with --local for a machine-local Lab session (jupyterlab-biolm + credential env). Platform-hosted sandboxes may be added as additional targets later.

Usage

bash
biolm notebook [OPTIONS] COMMAND [ARGS]...

biolm notebook start

Start a BioLM JupyterLab session.

Requires biolm-sdk[notebook]. Resolves BIOLM_TOKEN / BIOLMAI_TOKEN / BIOLM_API_KEY so the SDK and jupyterlab-biolm agree, then starts jupyter lab. Extra args are forwarded to JupyterLab.

Usage

bash
biolm notebook start [OPTIONS]

Options

--local

Start JupyterLab on this machine (currently required)

-d, --detach

Run JupyterLab in the background and print the URL

--port <port>

JupyterLab server port

--dir <notebook_dir>

Notebook root directory (default: current working directory)

--no-browser

Do not open a browser automatically

biolm notebook stop

Stop a BioLM JupyterLab session started by biolm notebook start.

Examples:

Usage

bash
biolm notebook stop [OPTIONS]

Options

--local

Stop the local JupyterLab session (currently required)
